Artifacts and World Drops

Artifacts are guild specific items that generally enhance or otherwise improve a guilds powers or abilities. They randomly drop similarly to world drops, and if you happen to find one it will not necessarily be for your own guild. The Lore skill can allow a notification to be sent to you when another player on the mud stumbles across one of your guild's artifacts.

Because many artifacts have fallen behind in the continued updates to 3k, a number of them are considered to be of no value, though some are still highly sought by their respective guild. When in doubt just ask!

Many thanks to the 3k Wiki (this Wiki may no longer be online) and its many contributors for the artifact info which we have used to populate the tables here. The mirror for the 3k Wiki can alternatively be found here: 3k Wiki Mirror. Please feel free to contact us with any additional details you would like to see added here.

World Drops are rare items that have a chance to appear at nearly any creature killed. You will receive a special message notifying you that an item has been found, and the item will be laying on the ground. World drops are generally, but not always, items of higher than average power. Items can include weapons, armor, and single use items like an XP potion or even an exploding kitten. They also may not be something that you can use. Some will bind to you when picking them up (which means a friend could pick it up instead) and some will only bind to you when you equip or wield. In most cases, world drop items will stick with you for several reboots.

What are the items dropped?

Bard Artifact

Sturdy Kevlar Boots

Allows bard to move a lightning vortex once it is cast. Generally not very useful as recasting this power is trivial, and there are far better benefits to other boots commonly available.

Description:

A small vibrant prism

It will dramatically increase chances for experiment success and beneficial experiment effects.

Description:

Prism's Genomic DNA Crystal
You hold in your hand a long thin crystal, tranlucent and glimmering with shades of every color imaginable. Looking closely, you think that you can almost see a tightly packed network of shimmering double helix threads making up the internal structure of the crystal. The crystal feels warm to the touch and seems to hum slightly. In extremely small print long one faceted side of the crystal are very small letters that read: A Product of Gentech Science: Prism, Chief Science Officer of Gentech.
The crystal is in perfect condition.
It has a magical glow about it.
It looks light.

You carefully study Prism's Genomic DNA Crystal... You sure this is an armor? This armor allows protection beyond the normal types. This armor has no special defense against melee attacks. This item is worth a fair penny!

Gentech Artifact

a large cage covered in runes

Inside the large cage, which is covered in strange symbols, is a fifty centimeter long fur covered rodent. It looks a snake covered with fur except for the fact it has small legs. Without these dark arts this robe would just be a pretty item to be worn to parties, but the powers cast upon this beauty make it something of an amazing find. Molok's Titanium Breastplate

Description:

Molok's Titanium Breastplate
This is the ancient breastplate from the goblin king Molok. The history of how it managed to fall into your hands will remain forever unknown. Molok was the mightiest of the goblin kings and his great power was attributed to this armor. It was remarkable in the goblin legends because it never rusted; this was quite some accomplishment for any goblin armor. Similarly it is remarkably comfortable and it was noted that King Molok wore it at all times, even during sleep. This item is bound to you.
You will enter the game with this item up through boot #1946.
The breastplate is in perfect condition.
It has a magical glow about it.
It appears to be light armour for a player of your level.
This armor has the following resistances:
45 edged, 45 blunt, 10 fire, 10 ice
You must be level 50 to wear this.
It doesn't look too heavy.

Bard's Legend
This ancient armor, most recently _nobly_ owned by King Molok of the goblin hordes over 1000 years ago, has a rather illustrious history. It was crafted by an enslaved earth elemental under the command of an entire legion of goblin warlocks. Being weak and nearly powerless it took that many warlocks just to trap the elemental and it still managed to kill 4 score of them before succumbing to the magic. Once the armor was finished the high general, Molok, slew a number of the warlocks, releasing the elemental. After a flurry of rock and sand the entirety of the warlocks, and the King were slain. Molok donned the armor and declared himself king. No goblins could stand against him in his new impenetrable armor so he was indeed crowned. It was but a decade later that Molok was consumed by a wandering Xorn and this armor was 'deposited' after a few weeks. Where it has gone since is a mystery, but now it has fallen into your hands.

A PICNP Device

Description:

A PICNP Device
The peripherally inserted central nutrient port (PICNP) is a device that converts biological matter into a highly effective nutrient mixture, which is then delivered directly to the patient's bloodstream. Users have reported a general feeling of well-being, as well as faster healing, a clearer mind, and in rare cases a marked increase in specific body functions. Fresher input will create a more efficient nutrient solution, as will keeping the device fully charged.

There is a small button marked 'quiet' that you could press. To use the PICNP, you must first 'insert' or 'attach' it.
Be warned though that this could cause some pain.

To charge the PICNP, you may 'process' or 'feed' it corpses.

3k Wiki Note:
When being fed a corpse, it gives a 30-minute +1 to a random(?) stat. While it's charged (indicated by the percentage), it provides HP and SP healing. A 150k corpse fills it by about 4%.
The "pain" referenced in the description doesn't appear to be anything (or so little mskill regen covered it).
This item does not break.

Description:

A thick cloak made from the silvery hides of the winter wolves of the Balinok mountains. Legend tells of the ancient patriot who fought to free his people from the strife of the Old Dark. Foretold is the prophecy that his spirit will return from the darkness to deliver the lands from evil, bringing strength and protection against whatever perils it may be faced with. Your focus is then drawn to the strange runes in the shapes of an azure sword, an emerald hammer and a golden sun glowing with faint light upon the collar.

Robe of Therlasia

Description:

Robe of Therlasia
A delicately flowing, yet draping robe made of what appears to be expensively woven wool. It feels relatively light in your grasp and seems as though it would fit your frame nicely. Your eyes catch small sparks of red energy sparking across the folds of the robe, but even more strange is the lower band. Touching it with your fingers, your hand comes away red with a thick crimson liquid. You step back in awe. Are you truly holding the legendary Robe of Therlasia? Woven by demons from the blood of angels in the time before Therlasia became Der'Thalas, it was that which figured in with the temptation, corruption and eventual fall of King Tharon. Bards Legend

Many eons ago, a mad warrior king ravaged the lands, crazy with power but always lusting for more. Upon one of his many victories over a large army on an endless stretch of rocky plateau, he ordered his men to collect the spilled blood of his enemies. When he returned home, he commanded the master of the forge to mix the blood with steel to be used to forge him a new blade. He compelled the high priest to enchant a handful of small dusky emeralds over the foundry as the blood burned in the molten metal. Once completed, he bid the expert swordsmith to press the emeralds into the hilt. Thus, Soul Drinker was born.

You wield Soul Drinker.
As you wrap your hand around Soul Drinker's hilt, a green tendril of soul essence worms its way into your ear and suddenly your mind is filled with a chilling voice. "Feed me souls and I shall grow in power. Grip me tighter and I shall unleash my power at your command."

A smokey wisp of soul essence trails from Letter a to the Soul Drinker.

<grip blade>
You tighten your grip on Soul Drinker. As the small emeralds in the grip dig into your hand, you feel the sword surge.
