Quest Notes (last solved and updated: January 2021)

AREA NAME: Night of Colour [Stelari]
Monster class range since inception: 13,603 to 87,921

Important Note: This quest may be alignment based. Help Silver if you're alignment is positive. Unknown outcome with evil alignment.

Additional Note: While in this area, you will encounter enemies that will not let you leave the room until you kill them (and some are aggressive).
  55k : Shadow
  45k : Impediment
  --k : Bulwark

From Chaos:
Step 1: <enter; n; climb tower; board balloon>
(if the balloon is not there, <whistle> and wait for it to arrive...then
  <board balloon>
The balloon vibrates.
A soft jerk, the balloon rises slowly, but the landscape below fades quickly, lost in mist.
The balloon lifts through the mist, a carpet of white below.
The balloon sinks through the mist, descending again.
The balloon softly touches down, basket bumps lightly.

Step 2: <exit>

Step 3: Find Silver - <n; 9w; enter>
Note: If Dulled Silver is not in this room . . .wait. We believe it simply takes a moment/minute before he appears once you enter the room.

Step 4: <say home>
Silver tells you: My house is echoing with the lack of Blue. She made this place a home, and now is gone. I am hopeless without her.

Step 5: <say help>
Silver tells you: Help? Surely none can help my hopeless heart. The only thing I long for is my Blue, but even my Hope is gone.

Step 6: <say hope>
Silver tells you: My heart is empty of hope, I have not the strength to find it. Alone, I fear I will wither into nothing, for without the hope that my Blue lives on, what point is there in life.

Step 7: Find Hunter Green. He wanders around, but seems to stay on the left side of the map. In addition to him wandering, there is a room (n; w; 2n from dock) that has an exit 'rock' and he's been known to also go in here. So if you are searching, be sure to check here first and then wander around the left side of the map until you find him. - <exit; 8e; 2n; rock>

Step 8: <say help>
Green tells you: Help eh? I could use your help alright. I've been hunting all day for a rapid horn. If you could find me one, I could probably help you out in return.

Step 9: After requesting help, you'll notice that he asked you for an item. This item will be random from player to player. Here is a list of which enemies have which items. Find the enemy that has the item he wants and kill it.

Bulwark (located on way to Black) - Bulwark shield, Bulwark sword
Dismal - Dismal soul
Furtive - N/A
Glimmer - Glimmer globe
Gloom - Gloom wing
Hostile - Hostile pelt
Impediment - Impediment branch
Mud - Snare mud
Paragon - Paragon feather
Peace - Peace feather
Radiance - Radiance horn
Rapid (located on way to Bronze) - Rapid horn
Resilient - Resilient hide
Shadow - Shadow material
Swoop - Swoop eye
Timorous - Timorous tail

Step 10: Get the item that the enemy dropped and bring it back to Green.

Step 11: <give ____ to green>
Green tells you: Oh, thanks!
Green tells you: I guess I could help you now. I bet those Paragons know something.

Step 12: <say paragon>
Green tells you: I'm sure those Paragons know something, they remember everything they see. Since you helped me out, I'll send out the word that they can trust you. They should tell you if they know anything.

Step 13: Locate any Paragon. There are several, and just like Hunter Green, they stay on the left side of the map as well. <say hi>
What it looks like when the Paragon does not know anything -
Paragon chirps at you: Hullo! Green spread the word you might be looking for anyone who saw Blue. Not me though!

What it looks like when the Paragon knows something -
Paragon chirps at you: Hullo! Green spread the word you might be looking for anyone who saw Blue. Well - I did! I saw two Bulwarks knock her out and drag her away! Lawks! Here, this is probably going to give Silver some hope, eh? Give this to him, he needs to smile more.

Step 14: You'll now have 'Hope' in your inventory. Return to Silver at the far west edge of the area. (Directions unavailable since it is dependent upon where you found your Paragon.)

Step 15: <give hope to silver>
Silver brightens up!

Silver tells you: Can it be true? Oh, my Beautiful Blue, still alive! I live in hope once more, but I need proof before I can take action.

Step 16: <say proof>
Silver tells you: Hope feeds the fire, but without Proof, it will eventually burn out once again.

Step 17: Visit Gold - <3se>

Step 18: <say help>
Gold whispers icily to you: Help? I guess since you are trying to help Silver, I should help you in return, but I am too weary. Mighty Bronze could probably help you better. I think if you ask him for help, he may be receptive, but only because I sent you.

Step 19: Visit Bronze - <4e; 9n; ne; climb; 2u (you may need to wait a few moments for him to appear)>

Step 20: <say help>
Bronze hisses at you: Gold told you I would help, did he? A wily one that, even in death. However, my help does not come free. Forever the light does struggle with the dark, and forever I do struggle with Grey. Rid the land of him, and I will help you.

Step 21: Visit Grey - <3d; sw; 5s; 3e; n; enter; 2d; kill grey>
  44,625 : Grey

Step 22: Return to Bronze - <3u; s; 3w; 5n; ne; climb; 2u>

Step 23: <say help>
Bronze hisses at you: Ahh, Grey gone! The shadow will surely wither and die now. Fair is fair, and I will help you now.

With a flick of his wing, Bronze flips you onto his broad back, and carries you into the sky.

Huge wings beating the still night air, Bronze gains altitude, spiralling away from Promise.

Satisfied with his height, Bronze levels off. The cool air whistles past you as he gains speed, heading southeast.

Banking slightly, Bronze begins to descend in a large spiral. Far below, a black tower can be seen emerging from the forest.

Bronze pulls up, circling slowly around the highest level of the tower. Inside, through the windows, you see Blue sobbing relentlessly, a prisoner of Black. Proof is yours.

Sensing your fulfillment, Bronze circles upwards once more.

Heading westward, Bronze descends over the forest, tree-tops whipping underneath.

Swooping low, Bronze hovers briefly, allowing you to jump off his back.

Step 24: You should now have 'Proof' in your inventory, and you've now been dropped off in front of Silver's home - <enter; give proof to silver>
Silver tells you: Oh, it is really true! You cannot imagine the joy that brings me! All that remains is to rescue her, but for that I need your help one last time, if you would be so kind as to agree.

Step 25: <say agree>
Silver tells you: You are truly a champion among champions. Lead on! I will cover your back.

Step 26: Head to Black's Tower and kill any Bulwark's that block your way - <exit; 19e; 3s; se; sw; enter>

Step 27: Once you go south, Silver should enter combat automatically with Black. At that point, help him kill Black - <s> . . .wait <kill black>
Silver arrives.
Anger pent, Love unleashed, Silver hurls himself at Black.
Black struck but did no damage to Silver.
Silver pulverized Black with a powerful attack.

- once combat finishes -

As Black is struck a final blow, a trickle of blood escapes his lips. Light trickles into the room, a steady flow, banishing the shadows and burning the dark. He stumbles, falling to his knees, before collapsing on the cold, icy floor.

Beyond the castle walls, the darkness howls in agony as light spreads across the land, filling the valleys and pervading the crevices. From above, a cracking sound is heard, the tower open, now, forever.

Beautiful Blue strides down the stairs, into the room.

Silver says: My friend, you will never know the value of your help. I thank you with all my heart. You must ask me about Phase sometime. Farewell, we return home.

Silver embraces Blue, and they leave.

DONE!

Return to Chaos (or see Awesome Armour Opportunity below):
<n; ne; nw; 3n; 10w; s; board balloon>
Once you see The balloon softly touches down, basket bumps lightly.
<exit; d; s; vortex>

Awesome Armour Opportunity

Step 1: Instead of returning to Chaos, visit Silver - <n; exit; ne; nw; 2n; 9w; n; 10w; enter; say phase>

You have proven yourself one of these, and so, I will tell you the secret to its use, though it is quite simple. When you come to Phase, simply 'phase' yourself, and you will be transported to the island of light.

Step 2: Locate Phase - <exit; 4e; 4n; phase>
  You fade into the light.

Step 3: Locate Light - <kill light>
